This is a killer Prezi presentation from my friend, colleague, and TLT Faculty Fellow, Dr. Christopher Long. Chris is an Associate Professor of Philosophy here at PSU and is one of those people who just get it. When I met Chris two Summers ago he was lugging around a four year old Dell laptop ... at the end of our first meeting he was asking to get a MacBook so he could completely rethink his use of technology for teaching. From there we did deep dives into blogging, podcasting, grass roots video, and so much more. When he applied to be a Fellow we made sure we put great people around him and he has been doing amazing work completely in the open.
His blog, The Long Road is flat out amazing ... he asks his students to be co-authors in what he considers an ongoing text. Really bold and really exciting to be a part of!
Thanks, Cole, for this post and for all the ways TLT supports innovative initiatives at Penn State. The MacBook was great, but it was exposure to the excellent team you have assembled at TLT that set me on a new path of thinking about the transformative power of social media technology.
Having seen what can be done in the classroom, I am looking for ways to cultivate communities of learning in the Liberal Arts more broadly. I have been working with the Rock Ethics Institute in this regard and am thinking aloud about it here:

As I begin my tenure as Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies at the College of the Liberal Arts in January, I will be looking to you and your team for insights into how to engage other faculty, staff and alumni using this media.

We'll be waiting! I'd love to spend some time with you thinking more about how TLT can continue to play a role in supporting your vision for teaching and learning with technology in the Liberal Arts at PSU and beyond.
