I am looking forward to making a return trip to the University of Missouri to provide the keynote talk for their annual "Celebration of Teaching Excellence" event. I haven't been to Columbia since I did closing plenary for the first Apple Digital Campus Faculty Academy in April of 2005. It will be an opportunity to connect with old friends and get a look at how another University celebrates teaching and learning with technology.

It is a real honor to be a part of a program that also has Alan Levine and David Wiley. This will be an excellent opportunity to think about how my message plays more deeply within the larger world of eLearning design and teaching.

I have been invited to deliver the closing plenary at the 2011 Educause Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference in Baltimore, MD. If That is Scholarship, We Are Doomed! New forms of conversations are emerging across the Web that are shaping the nature of our institutional responsibilities. Remix culture is impacting the future of discourse on levels that make many of us uncomfortable. Let's explore the notion of the "conversation" as it exists across the social Web -- to see how we, as educators, can take cues from this emerging dialogue. It is our responsibility - not to dismiss these discussion forms (and forums) as passing fads, but to realize the embedded pedagogies that exist within these emergent spaces -- pedagogies we must understand to fully imagine what the future of digital media means to scholarship.

I will be delivering a keynote talk at the College of Southern Maryland for the Mid Atlantic Conference on Student Success. I will attempt to make the case that the move towards cooperative teaching and learning is a factor in longer term retention and student success. Should be fun and challenging.
I have been invited back to Stevenson University to deliver another keynote address. This will be for the first annual Faculty Development Conference for Colleges and Universities in the Central Maryland Area. I absolutely loved my last trip to Stevenson and cannot wait to see some old friends and make new ones.
I have been invited to present a keynote talk at Marywood University to talk about bridging the gap between in and out of school literacy. It will be interesting talking to folks about how the role of digital expression in building continuity between school and personal lives online. I am very much looking forward to the experience.
I will once again be heading to western PA to address parents, faculty, and students at the Quaker Valley School District. We'll spend our time talking about the role of creativity and innovative thought as it relates to teaching with technology. I always have a blast with my friends from QV.
I have been invited to do a keynote presentation at Stevenson University focusing on harnessing the power of disruptive technologies in teaching and learning. I'll be speaking primarily to faculty from Stevenson, but I am told staff from across various offices will also be present. My talk will be titled, "Enabling the New Campus Conversation" and will cover some of the points I have been working to extend in the last year or so. I plan to integrate some new data from our freshly released 2009 FACAC student survey to help highlight how our students are adopting the services we are implementing on our campus. It should be a fun and engaging event that I have been looking forward to for quite some time.
I have been invited to keynote the Youth Connect Summit in Pittsburgh, PA. An audience like this will present a new challenge to me and one that I am very much looking forward to. Youth Connect is a community run organization that was begun as a result of grass roots efforts to help young people avoid risky behavior. It has become a community-wide effort that involves adults and students from our local and private schools, churches, and other community organizations. I've been asked to provide a baseline of education related to teens use of technology and to help parents and community leaders be better prepared to have conversations related to their use of social networks.
