I am starting to think I should turn this into a WVU sports blog. Predictions this early are just crazy, but I have never in my life seen anything like someone picking WVU number one in football. Can I say that again ... never. Time will tell, but it sure does make me feel proud. I finally know what it feels like to be in the company with Michigan, FSU, Miami, and the other big boys!
if they played in a real conference, they'd be exposed.

Probably right, but at the end of the day they did beat a fairly strong Georgia team from one of the stronger conferences in the country in the Sugar Bowl. Week after week it would be a heck of a lot tougher, but I'll take my little slice of heaven while it lasts.

Yeah, I didn't mean to be an ass with that comment, but it's my honest opinion that if WVU played in the Big Ten they would have 2-3 losses. They are a great team, no doubt about it, a legit top 25 team (or top 10 for that matter) but I don't think that they will stay at #1 for more than a couple weeks. Do enjoy it though, while it lasts, and who knows....maybe it will last for a lot longer than I'm thinking it will and you'll laugh all the way to the national title next season?
How cool would it be to see PSU play them in the title game? ;)

PSU v WVU in any game would be great! When I was at WVU we played PSU every year (and they beat us every year for that matter) and it was always an amazing weekend. Those were such fun times ... my whole family would come in from PA and we'd tailgate and have a blast. It is a shame PSU can't play a lot of those old teams, but their move to the Big Ten has been such a good thing. I really would love to see WVU get out of the Big East in football, but it looks like they'll be there for a while.
Going into next season I can't see them at the top of the (real) preseason polls. I bet somewhere in the top 10 ... and maybe even the top 5, but that's it. I'll enjoy it while it lasts ... and how about the WVU basketball team! In the top 15 and in first place in the toughest basketball conference in the country. Like I said before, I am so proud of them!
But a PSU/WVU matchup next bowl season would be amazing. I'll meet you there!
